The LBJ Express project team, which operates and maintains both the general highway lanes and the LBJ TEXpress Lanes on I-635 from *I-35E to US 75, occasionally closes lanes for construction improvements and maintenance projects. Below is a list of scheduled lane closure information and construction activity. Please check back frequently for updates as they happen along the corridor.
I-635 General Highway Lanes
10/20 - 12/31 9p-5a: Continuous closure of left shoulder on westbound I-635 between Coit Rd and Park Central.
11/20 9p-5a: Closure of exit ramp to TI Blvd from westbound I-635.
11/20 9p-5a: various lane closures on westbound frontage road on I-635 between Monfort and Inwood.
11/21 9p-5a: various lanes on westbound frontage road on I-635 at Harry Hines intersection.
LBJ TEXpress Lanes
11/20 9p-5a: Entrance ramp and left lane closure to the westbound LBJ TEXpress Lanes on I-635 from Greenvillle to TI Blvd.
11/20 9p-5a: Closure of entrance ramp and right lane from TI Blvd to westbound LBJ TEXpress Lanes.
11/20 9p-5a: Closure of lgate to LBJ TEXpress Lanes from southbound US 75 HOV Lane.
I-35E Direct Connector Ramps
11/20 9p-4a: Full closure of entrance ramp to southbound general highway lanes on I-35E from Walnut Hill Lane.
*The LBJ Express corridor project limits on I-635 are from Harry Hines Boulevard to Coit Road. The LBJ TEXpress on I-635 run from Luna Road to almost Greenville Avenue. The LBJ TEXpress Lanes on the I-35E flyover ramps run from I-635 north up to Valley View Lane, and south to the I-35E/Loop 12 split. The Texas Department of Transportation operates and manages the remainder of I-635, as well as the 635 East Express/HOV Lanes, and I-35E, including the I-35E TEXpress Lanes.
