Get a birdseye view of the LBJ Express corridor, stretching from Luna Road to Greenville Avenue on I-635, and the I-35E/635 interchange that allows drivers to zoom from I-635 onto I-35E.
Because the *LBJ TEXpress Lanes were designed for commuters interested in getting from one end of the corridor to the other end as quickly as possible, there are a limited number of entrance and exit ramps. Some of the ramps are located on the general highway lanes, while others such as Preston Road and Webb Chapel can only be accessed from the frontage roads. Plus, the TEXpress Lanes feature a reversible connection to and from the US 75 / Central Expressway HOV lane that can only be used by carpool drivers and motorcyclists.
*The 635 East HOV/Express Lanes on I-635, which run from US 75 to I-30 and are operated by the Texas Department of Transportation, are not part of the LBJ TEXpress Lanes. The I-35E TEXpress Lanes on I-35E from Valwood Parkway in Dallas County to Swisher Road in Denton County are also a Texas Department of Transportation project. The LBJ TEXpress Lanes are managed and maintained by LBJ Infrastructure Group, a private developer.
In addition, the LBJ TEXpress Lanes are comprised of three separate tolling segments. Once you enter the TEXpress Lanes, you will see pricing signs well in advance of each new tolling segment to help you decide whether to continue your trip or exit the lanes. For instance, if you enter I-635 at Greenville Avenue and:
- Exit at Luna Road, you will incur charges for two toll segments
- Use the I-35E connection to go north or south on I-35E, you will incur charges for three toll segments
